Patient Messaging Terms & Conditions

Program Information
Central Valley Pediatrics offers a patient text messaging program to help patients and their families stay informed about their healthcare. By enrolling in our messaging program, you agree to receive text messages related to your child’s care, including:
- Appointment reminders and confirmations
- Appointment scheduling and rescheduling updates
- Annual well-child examination reminders
- Immunization reminders
- Prescription and referral notifications
- Follow-up messages from our healthcare team
- Office closures, holiday hours, and important practice announcements
- Other healthcare-related communications
Participation in our messaging program is voluntary and is not required to receive medical care.
Consent to Receive Messages
By providing your mobile phone number during patient registration, through our website, or by otherwise opting into our messaging program, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Central Valley Pediatrics.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving medical care.
You are responsible for providing an accurate mobile phone number and notifying us if your number changes. You represent that you are authorized to receive messages at the phone number provided.
Message Types and Frequency
You may receive one or more of the following message types:
- Appointment reminders and confirmations
- Appointment scheduling or rescheduling information
- Annual well-child examination and preventive-care reminders
- Immunization reminders
- Personalized follow-up messages from our healthcare team
- Office announcements and service updates
Message frequency may vary based on your appointments, healthcare needs, interactions with our office, and the types of communications you have opted to receive.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless carrier’s plan. Central Valley Pediatrics does not charge patients for receiving text messages. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging plan.
Opt-Out Instructions
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to the number from which you received our message. Upon receiving your opt-out request, you will receive a final confirmation text with instructions on how to opt back in if the action was performed in error.
To resume receiving messages, reply START from the phone number that previously opted out.
Opting out removes you from automated communications from our Patient Messaging Program, including appointment reminders. Opting out will not affect the clinical care you receive from Central Valley Pediatrics.

Important Notice
Text messages are not monitored in real time and should not be used for emergencies, urgent medical concerns, or other time-sensitive matters. Do not use text messaging to request urgent care, report urgent symptoms, or send information that requires an immediate response.
If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For urgent medical concerns that are not an emergency, please contact Central Valley Pediatrics directly at (559) 431-6600.
Carrier Disclaimer
While Central Valley Pediatrics makes every effort to deliver messages in a timely manner, delivery is not guaranteed. Text messages rely on third-party messaging providers and mobile carriers. Central Valley Pediatrics is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages resulting from carrier or third-party service issues.
Changes to These Terms
Central Valley Pediatrics may update these Patient Messaging Terms & Conditions periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. Updated terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued participation in the Patient Messaging Program following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These Patient Messaging Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, consistent with applicable federal law.
